| When I completed the “Drive of Your Life” game, I discovered that my personal style profile was: influential,creative, and pratical. The three careers that match my style are: police and detective supervisor, umpire and referee,and business executive. From this information I have decided to explore becoming a police and detective supervisor. I selected this job because I enjoy being outside and driving. One of my daily activities as a police patrol officer would be to patrol a speciffic area on foot or vehicle. I also have to investigate crimes. In addition, I have to direct traffic on certain shifts. To work as a police patrol officer, I need to get a high school diploma and attend a police academy. I must be good at speaking and negotiating in order to become a well trained police patrol officer. In the United States, the average salary for a police patrol officer is $52,810 per year. In the state of Virginia, the average annual salary is $49,964. In the United States by the year 2016, employment for a police patrol officer is expected to increase or decrease by 10.8%. In the state of Virginia by the year 2016, it is expected to increase or decrease by 16.7%. I am looking forward to becoming a police patrol officer in the future. |
